Your 2024 Benefit Package

In 2024, our medical, dental, vision, employee assistance program (EAP), and critical illness benefits will be provided by Cigna. Our life and disability benefits will be provided by Prudential.

We are proud to offer a 100% paid employee benefits package. By selecting the Cigna HSA, Dental Low, and Vision plan—benefits are 100% free. For all other plans, you and FLYR share in the cost of health care premiums. While dental and vision employee contribution rates are decreasing, our 2024 medical contributions are changing. Be sure to carefully review this information when you log into PlanSource.

Medical Benefits

In 2024, our new medical carrier will be Cigna. The Cigna network covers 95% of the same health care providers as Blue Shield. There are three medical plan options through Cigna to choose from:

  • Cigna Buy Up Plan

  • Cigna Base Plan

  • Cigna HSA Plan: This plan is 100% paid by FLYR. This is a high deductible plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA). To comply with IRS regulations, the in-network deductible will be adjusted to $3,200, the family deductible will remain the same.

  • The Kaiser HMO plan will continue to be offered.

  • The EAP will also be offered through Cigna, you and your family members will have 3 free sessions to talk to a counselor on a number of issues. You do not need to be enrolled in a medical plan through FLYR to take advantage of this service.

FLYR is happy to announce that we will contribute $50/month for employee-only coverage and $100/month for family coverage into your HSA. That's either $600 or $1,200 depending on your coverage level! â€‹

Transition to Cigna

Transition of Care

If you are currently receiving care from a provider that is not in Cigna’s network, some medical conditions are eligible for Transition of Care (TOC) from your current, out-of-network provider at network rates for a limited time. Examples that may qualify for TOC include (but are not limited to):

  • Pregnancy

  • Ongoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy

  • Transplant

  • Previously scheduled major surgeries

  • Some scheduled dental work

Routine care, chronic conditions, minor illnesses and elective surgeries do not qualify for TOC.

You must apply no later than 30 days after the effective date of your coverage (January 31, 2024). Typically Cigna allows the transition to last 90 days (1/1/2024-3/31/2024). Cigna will review and evaluate your TOC and will send a letter informing you if your request was approved or denied. A denial will include information about how to appeal the determination.

Transition of Prescription Drugs â€‹

  1. Refill your prescription(s) before your current plan ends to make sure you have enough medication while moving to your new Cigna pharmacy plan.

  2. See how medications will be covered under Cigna. Click here to see if and what tier your medication is covered under, and if you must meet additional requirements before Cigna will cover it.

    • If your medication needs approval, go to myCigna to get your medical ID card. Your doctor will need the information on the card.

    • Call your doctor’s office to let them know you’ve switched to Cigna, and provide your updated insurance information.

      • Let your doctor know your current medication needs pre-approval and they will need to contact Cigna ASAP.

      • Cigna will review the information and provide your doctor with a letter detailing next steps (typically 1-5 days).
