New Hire Checklist

As a New Hire, you must enroll for benefits within 30 days of your hire date. After you enroll, your benefit coverage will retroactively begin on your date of hire.

The only time you can make changes to your elections is during Open Enrollment or if you have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE)

As a FLYR employee, you have the opportunity to enroll in a number of benefits designed to support you and your family. Most benefits must be elected, either as a new hire or during open enrollment, use the checklist below to understand the benefits and coverage you must elect. 

 

Some benefits are automatically provided by FLYR for you upon your date of hire. These benefits include: 

  • Company-paid life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability, business travel accident insurance

  • Mental health and wellness resources 

  • Additional perks 

Please use the checklist below to ensure that you have completed all the necessary steps before enroling. â€‹

  1. First, you will need to complete your onboarding profile on Bamboo HR. Please add all employee demographics data such as your (SSN, gender, full address) or your benefit profile will not be created in Benefit Navigaor. 

    • Navigate to Okta and select the Benefit Navigator tile. 

    • Scroll to Company Links then select Manage my Benefits 

    • You will then be prompted to click the link to Enroll for Benefits  

  2. Once you complete your BambooHr profile you will receive an email from Benefit Navigator via support@getebm.com, our benefit administration platform with benefit enrollment instructions. This usually occurs within 2-3 days from your hire date if information has been entered. 

  3. Before enrolling, review the information and helpful videos on this benefit site to understand your options. 

  4. You can review the plan costs on Benefit Navigator and enroll within 30 days of your hire date. If you are not interested in enrolling in our health insurance, please still log onto Benefit Navigator to waive benefits. We also recommended that you add your beneficiary information for the company provided Life Insurance plan.

Basic life, AD&D and disability. Remember to update your beneficiary information.  

Be sure to understand that Guaranteed Issue (GI) amounts apply when first enrolling for Voluntary Life insurance through FLYR. Guaranteed Issue refers to the amount of voluntary life insurance coverage that is guaranteed to you at the time of initial enrollment without having to provide Evidence of Insurability (EOI). All employees are automatically enrolled in the FLYR 401(k) Plan at 1% contribution and employer match. You may adjust your 401(k) contribution at any time.

Upon your election in Benefit Navigator, it will take approximately 1-2 weeks until your information is updated on the carrier portals. Therefore, we encourage you to enroll as soon as possible. Should you need to access to care immediately for an emergency, please contact the Benefits Team at benefits@flyr.com.

* You must be enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan with an HSA to be able to elect and make contributions toward your Health Savings Account (HSA). You should review your HSA contribution during Open Enrollment every year. (You are allowed to change your HSA contribution monthly during the year. The change is effective prospectively.)

** Every year you must renew your FSA and Commuter accounts to obtain tax advantages. You must enroll and enter your elected contribution amount for each account every year. These benefits do NOT automatically roll over.
